This common snapping turtle was of my own
complex design. The head, front legs, and tail are all jointed to allow
motion. The head is specially rigged to lead the body when jigged, as a live turtle's head would. The front
legs are designed to produce forward and back motion as the decoy is swam.
The back legs act as stabilizers. This decoy was awarded the 1997 world
championship in Livonia Michigan.
