This channel cat decoy is what is called a
"floater", meaning that there is a line tie on both the top and the
bottom of the decoy. Unlike the "sinkers" floaters are suspended
in the water with a weight tied on them as an anchor. The decoy relies on
the water for the most part for its movement. A floater might be used in
conjunction with a sinker decoy for extra attractant. This decoy was
awarded the 1992 best of show at the world championship. Interestingly, this decoy
was one of the first fish decoys carved by Blaine.
